Abstract
The study investigates the existenceof Ulama/Kyai with its traditional authority in Gresik, East Java in ifluencing the political behaviour of the female members oh Nahdlatul Ulama,especially in 2008 local's election. The study reveals that female members of NU were not really influenced or affected by political fatwa's issued by the ulama's and indicates that women tend to have rational behavior and personal maturity in determining their political choices.
