Abstract
"Con el pretexto de combatir la guerrilla, la militarización arrecia en la localidad de Sumapaz, enclavada en la cordillera oriental de Colombia. Allí, cada testimonio delinea la guerra. Miedo, violencia, una alcaldesa obligada a abandonar las veredas. La gente que, en el páramo mayor del mundo —por lo frío y desamparado del lugar—, bajo un fuego “silencioso”, defiende la vida. “Si no morimos de un balazo, nos matan los nervios.” La frase de Doña Graciela cruzó perturbada entre sus manos, que bien abiertas le sostenían el rostro. Cuando concluyó, llegaron otras evidencias de que la guerra no ha abandonado el páramo: “pensamos que los dejó el ejército”, comentó un campesino al mostrar el documento que incriminaba, con fotografías y nombres, a veinte pobladores de Sumapaz por su supuesta integración a las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC)" ["Under the pretext of fighting the guerrillas, militarization rages in the town of Sumapaz, located in the Eastern Cordillera of Colombia.
