Abstract
"The starting point of this article is the characterization of men and women disciples as the “true” family of Jesus (Mk 3,31-35). The first part presents information on blood relatives of Jesus and its theological-ideological aspects. The second part is dedicated to some women mentioned in the Gospel of Mark and interprets them as “sisters” of Jesus, as disciples in different mission contexts: itinerant disciples (Mk 15,40-41 – the “women at the cross”), disciples who were community leaders in Israel (Mk 1,29-31 – the “mother-in-law of Peter”) and disciples who were missionaries outside Israel (Mk 8,24-30 – the “syro-phoenician woman”). The feminist analysis of these texts and contexts and their interpretations seeks to strengthen a more just and equalitarian understanding and accomplishment of following Jesus and discipleship nowadays among us."
