Abstract
The article investigates Persian sources of information regarding Alexander, and the different lectures of the sources by literature, giving birth to diametrically opposing literary characters: Ferdowsi's tragic hero, Nezâmi's ideal king and prophet, and the anti-hero in popular novels.
