Abstract
"La eclesiología de Estrada constituye un trabajo de recepción crítica y creativa de la eclesiología mistérica y de comunión del concilio Vaticano II, que busca continuar y profundizar el aggiornamento de la Iglesia en un contexto eclesial y sociocultural en transición. La particularidad de su reflexión consiste en proponer una teología fundamentada en la Escritura y la Tradición que renueve y potencie la identidad, las funciones y la espiritualidad de los laicos en el marco de una eclesiología pneumática y de comunión. El autor contextualiza esta propuesta en la conflictiva situación eclesial posconciliar, donde el aparato institucional de la Iglesia vigente, así como sectores significativos de la jerarquía católica actúan y se legitiman a partir de la eclesiología heredada de la contrarreforma. De ahí que el autor adopte explícitamente en su eclesiología un carácter decididamente controversial, con las ventajas e inconveniencias que ello trae consigo. Tal opción da cuenta de una eclesiología que no sólo busca entender a la Iglesia, sino también transformarla." "Estrada’s ecclesiology wants to critically and creatively receive the ecclesiology of mystery and communion of the Second Vatican Council, and tries to continue and deepen the “aggiornamento” of the Church in an ecclesiastical and socio-cultural context of transition. A specific trait of his reflection is his proposal of a theology based on Scripture and Tradition that intends to renew and to foster the identity, functions and spirituality of lay people, in the framework of pneumatic ecclesiology of communion. The author sets forth this proposal in the context of a conflictive Church situation after the Council, where the institutional structure that prevails in the Church and significant sectors of the ecclesiastical hierarchy act on the basis of an ecclesiology inherited from the counterreformation and take their legitimacy from it. That explains why the author adopts in his ecclesiology a decidedly controversial character, with the advantages and disadvantages that it may have. Such an ecclesiology tries not only to understand the Church but also to transform it."
