Factor analysis was used to determine underlying measures of marketing strategies and the environment facing foreign ventures in Tanzania. These measures were then subject to cluster analysis. Successful firms were found to be relatively independent from the control of their parent company. They were also found to offer highly differentiated products at premium prices with more emphasis on promotions and many channels of distribution. Unsuccessful firms were found to by highly controlled by their parent companies with a tendency to offer lower prices with less emphasis on promotion.engWith permission of the license/copyright holderperformancesocial market economymultinational corporationsEconomic ethicsBusiness ethicsEthics of economic systemsMarketing strategies and performance of foreign ventures in tanzaniaArticle
