It was found out that poverty alleviation programs carried out in Nigeria are aimed at addressing the peculiarity of the socio-economic development challenges of the country. This is done through the provision of health care facilities, infrastructural development, educational support etc mostly informed by the socio-cultural factors of communalism and charity. This might not necessarily reflect the popular Western standard of corporate social responsibility.engWith permission of the license/copyright holderAfrican countriespovertybusiness ethicsEconomic ethicsCommunity ethicsBusiness ethicsMinority ethicsThe roles of the business community in the war against poverty in NigeriaPreprint
