It is considered the greatest expressions of Catholic social teaching in Church history. As we prepare to celebrate the 40 anniversary the document was officially promulgated, a new reading of the document under the present circumstances may be very insightful. This paper reviews Gaudium et Spes in the perspective of the current Economic Globalization. The paper underlines those views that can be related to the current process of globalization and underscores those principles that may have an important impact on present globalization. We discover that the teachings expressed in Gaudium et Spes have a great relevance in the present world.
