These results indicate that the expression and religious ideology of Majelis Tafsir Al-Quran (MTA) in Yogyakarta is exclusive. While the MTA religious schools included in the category of puritanical Islamic movement identified as the Salafi movement. MTA strategy in the fight for religious expression in the schools and Special Province of Yogyakarta is done in three ways. First is strengthening the relationships, communication, networking and support groups (pilgrims) having similar ideology with the teachings of the MTA; second is mastering study groups (informal gatherings) and third is in charge of the management of the mosque by bringing speakers, preachers, and various religious activities. Implications ideology, religious expression and propaganda strategy of MTA+K17 is the first strengthening the hegemonic position of the Muhammadiyah mosque through MTA’s propaganda.
