Estamos falando de “biogenética” (nova ciência da recriação da vida), de “bioterrorismo” (fabricação de armas biológicas com potencial destrutivo de vidas), “biocombustíveis” (novas fontes de energia extraída dos vegetais) e “biologia molecular” (abrindo as portas para a revolução genômica), entre tantas outras especialidades que começam com o prefixo “Bios”. Em meio a essa explosão de conhecimentos novos ligados à “vida”, surge “a bioética” como um marco crítico de reflexão e discernimento de valores diante dessa revolução bio-tecno-científica.
