Abstract
"In State v. Allstate Insurance Co.,1 the California Supreme Court closed a loophole that had allowed insurers to escape their duty to indemnify the insured from “sudden and accidental” discharges of pollutants. This holding prevents non-negligent parties and future victims of environmental damages from bearing the ultimate financial burden of pollution." (p. 1)
