Abstract
This article discusses the character education for youth in Indonesia as a multicultural nation. The author argues that youth is a citizen who has an important role in changing the nation or referred to as agents of change. Education in Indonesia should not only emphasize on IQ, but also must teach about emotional intelligence (EQ) including integrity, honesty, commitment, vision, creativity, mental endurance, wisdom, justice, and trust. In this case, the author offers that in education, these characters must be appropriate with Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution as well as the understanding of human rights.
