"Uma das principais razões, que originou o interesse e o fascínio sobre os manuscritos de Qumran, a partir do momento de sua descoberta em 1947, foi a expectativa de que estes novos materiais poderiam iluminar os aspectos obscuros do nosso conhecimento sobre as origens e o desenvolvimento do Novo Testamento e do Cristianismo primitivo" ["One of the main reasons that led to the interest and fascination about the manuscripts of Qumran, from the time of its discovery in 1947, was the expectation that these new materials could illuminate aspects obscure our understanding of the origins and development of the New Testament and early Christianity"]
