Abstract
"Trata-se, neste trabalho, de articular as noções de conflito, virtù e glória em O príncipe de Maquiavel, especialmente a partir de uma análise de seus capítulos VII, VIII e IX. Para tanto, relaciono, num primeiro momento, a basilar noção maquiaveliana de virtù – a ação humana para o enfrentamento da fortuna – com a noção de glória – a avaliação da ação política. Num segundo momento, passo a apresentar um importante matiz interpretativo acerca desse problema, elaborado por Claude Lefort, e cuja tese pretende revelar a relação entre a virtù e a glória enquanto necessariamente mediada pela noção de conflito entre classes. Por fim, num terceiro movimento do texto, pretendo tecer breves críticas a essa tese" ["It is, in this work, to articulate the notions of conflict, virtù and glory in The Prince of Machiavelli, especially from an analysis of its chapters VII, VIII and IX. For this, relate, at first, the basilar Machiavellian notion virtù - human action to confront the fortune - with the notion of glory - the assessment of political action. Secondly, an important step to provide interpretive nuance about this issue, written by Claude Lefort, and whose thesis aims to reveal the relationship between virtù and glory as necessarily mediated by the notion of conflict between classes.
