Abstract
"One of the basic assumptions of Reformation history is that the Bible held a central place in the Protestant movement.* However, there seem to have been few attempts to determine exactly what this meant for Protestants in France in terms of the French Bible's 'This essay is a revised version of a paper read at a joint meeting of the Society for Reformation Research and the Twentieth International Congress on Medieval Studies held at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, on May 9, 1985.
