Abstract
"América Latina y el Caribe sigue siendo la región de mayor fecundidad adolescente en el mundo, después del África Subsahariana. A este escenario preocupante se suma el hecho que la reducción de la maternidad adolescente ha sido mucho menor que la de la fecundidad total en la región. Además, la desigualdad del calendario reproductivo sigue siendo muy elevada. Todo esto ocurre en un marco de incumplimiento de los derechos reproductivos de los y las adolescente y de desafíos pendientes en materia de institucionalidad y políticas. En este contexto, el documento aborda aspectos teóricos, metodológicos, empíricos y de política sobre la reproducción en la adolescencia y su desigualdad social. Este recorrido se realiza a partir de la concepción de la desigualdad reproductiva como una pieza del escenario de la desigualdad social en América Latina" ["Latin America and the Caribbean remains the region with the highest teenage pregnancy rates in the world after sub-Saharan Africa. This worrying scenario adds the fact that the reduction of teenage pregnancy has been much lower than the total fertility in the region. In addition, reproductive timing inequality remains very high. All this occurs in a context of failure of reproductive rights and adolescent and pending challenges in terms of institutions and policies. In this context, the paper addresses theoretical, methodological, empirical and policy on reproduction in adolescence and social inequality issues. This tour takes place from conception reproductive inequality as a part of the scenario of social inequality in Latin America"]
