Abstract
"El Gobierno anuncia una nueva reforma de la Ley de Reproducción (33/1988) y, mientras tanto, una revisión inmediata y práctica de la reciente reforma de esa misma ley, aprobada en noviembre del año pasado (45/2003). Sobre esta última reforma versó ya nuestra Nota del 25 de julio de 2003, titulada Una reforma para mejor, pero muy insuficiente. Ahora, al tiempo que expresamos nuestra confianza en la ciencia y en la medicina, manifestamos también las graves preocupaciones que suscitan determinadas prácticas y propuestas. 1. La ciencia y la técnica son siempre bienvenidas cuando se ponen realmente al servicio de la vida. La Iglesia saluda los avances médicos que han hecho posible el diagnóstico y la curación de enfermedades desconocidas o incurables. Este progreso merecerá realmente tal nombre y no se volverá contra el ser humano, sólo si se respeta plenamente la dignidad inviolable de todos los seres humanos en cualquier momento de su desarrollo y de su vida". ["The Government announces a new reform Reproduction Act (33 /1988) and in the meantime , immediate and practical review of the recent reform of the Act , passed in November last year (45/ 2003). On the latter dealt reform and our note July 25, 2003 , entitled A reform better , but far from sufficient. Now , while we express our confidence in science and medicine , we also expressed serious concerns raised certain practices and proposals. 1. Science and technology are always welcome when it is actually placed at the service of life. The Church welcomes the medical advances that have made possible diagnosis and cure of unknown or incurable diseases. this progress really deserve that name and not turn against humans, only if the inviolable dignity of every human being is fully respected at any point in its development and life".]
