Abstract
"El Concilio Vaticano II dio pasos gigantescos, para su tiempo, en el acercamiento a otras religiones, si tenemos en cuenta que todavía estaba vigente el axioma excluyente: “Fuera de la Iglesia no hay salvación” e imperaba la doctrina agustiniana sobre la necesidad de la gracia de Cristo para salvarse, que excluía toda posibilidad de las virtudes en los paganos así como la posibilidad de la justificación de los justos paganos" ["Vatican II took giant steps, for its time, in the approach to other religions, if we consider that the exclusionary effect was still axiom: "Outside the Church there is no salvation" and reigned the Augustinian doctrine of the necessity of grace of Christ for salvation, which excluded any possibility of virtues in the pagans and the possibility of justifying the righteous Gentiles"]
