"Apesar de publicado há alguns anos, creio que cabe destaque à obra do historiador francês Claude Langlois, ainda pouco conhecida entre nós e imprescindível para a compreensão do fenômeno que ele denomina feminização do Catolicismo na França. Prefaciado por René Rémond, que assinala que a amplitude do período recortado (século XIX) leva também ao conhecimento da sociedade deste período, o livro de Langlois, repleto de mapas, gráficos e tabelas, conjuga pesquisa quantitativa e qualitativa.
