Abstract
"A Igreja Luterana vive uma profunda reflexão histórica sobre suas origens e sobre seu futuro enquanto comunidade cristã, frente ao aumento substancial de brasileiros considerados evangélicos, que aderem à religiosidade cristã, nas últimas décadas do século XX. Observa-se como se deu a identidade luterana no Brasil, vinculada ao mesmo tempo com seu legado histórico e étnico, com novos exercícios da espiritualidade, com acentuada preocupação social, mediante a influência da teologia da libertação, ou com novos propósitos de evangelização, com o surgimento de novos avivamentos, culminando na formação de concepções “encontristas” para uma afirmação de uma identidade luterana. Este artigo tem a proposta de contribuir historicamente para uma eclesiologia sobre a igreja luterana, unindo sua intervenção social sem perder sua identidade como igreja oriunda da Reforma, e sem deixar de ser uma instituição eclesial genuinamente brasileira, identificada plenamente com os anseios e com os traços culturais do povo brasileiro" ["The Lutheran church lives a deep historical reflection about its origins and its future as Christian community, in front of substantial increase of the “evangélicos” on the last decades of the 20th century. Considering how the Lutheran identity was built, linked at the same moment with your historical and ethnic legacy, with new exercises from spirituality, with social concern, influence from theology from liberation, or with new purposes of preacher, with the becoming of new revivals, culminating on formation of “encontristas” conceptions for a affirmation of a Lutheran identity. This essay has the proposal of contributing historically for a ecclesiology about the Lutheran church, joining your social intervention without losing your identity as a church originated from Protestant Reform, and without leave of being an ecclesial institution purely Brazilian, identified mainly with wishes and culture of the Brazilian people"]
