Abstract
Kuntowijoyo is an Indonesian scholar who had great influence among the thinkers of Indonesia, especially in Yogyakarta. He is a figure who was playing a part at development of historical writing. As a historian and writer, he has given a viewpoint in historical writing. The work history of trilogy: Pengantar Ilmu Sejarah, Metodologi Sejarah, dan Penjelasan Sejarah of the left is also very beneficial for later historians. Even his writings not only relied on the writing of history, but he also wrote many works of literature such as: fiction and book.
