"Wartość i użyteczność badań naukowych zależy w zasadniczym stopniu od ich rzetelności i wiarygodności. Pomimo oczywistych różnicw organizacji i sposobach prowadzenia badań naukowych w różnych krajach oraz dyscyplinach nauki, da się wyróżnić uniwersalne zasady i reguły zawodowe o fundamentalnym znaczeniu dla rzetelności nauki bez względu na to, gdzie jest ona uprawiana." ["The value and benefits of research are vitally dependent on the integrity of research. While there can be and are national and disciplinary differences in the way research is organized and conducted, there are also principles and professional responsibilities that are fundamental to the integrity of research wherever it is undertaken."]
