Abstract
This paper is begun with explaining the development of Dompet Dhuafa Foundation which concerns with social welfare. This foundation educates the people to join in building social welfare through educational program. This study uses qualitative research to examine such a subject deeply. The data is collected by interviewing, observation and field note technique. Then, those data are analysed by categorizing to some efforts of public education to social welfare through education in order to get some typology strategies of public education. The results show that there are three public education strategies done by Dompet Dhuafa Foundation. Those are: first, functional strategy emphasizing on force and internal capacity of institution in doing communication with publics from view of arrangement of the target, purpose, message, media, source of information and feedback; second, differentiation strategy emphasizing on the novelty and strategic educational program to build prosperous society; and third, corporate strategy emphasizing on capacity in building collaboration with some parties to achieve prosperous society mutually.
