Abstract
"La Declaración Universal sobre Bioética y Derechos Humanos de la UNESCO marca un progreso significativo para la historia de la bioética al emanar de un organismo de las Naciones Unidas y vincular indisociablemente los principios éticos a los derechos humanos. Así, afirma un universalismo moral cuyo alcance de aplicación concreta son los Estados nacionales. En un mundo donde los intereses globalizados y la injusticia global resultan ser la principal amenaza para la bioética, la Declaración fortalece la defensa de la igualdad y la justicia para todos los seres humanos en razón de su dignidad" ["The Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights of UNESCO points out a significant progress to the history of bioethics. The Declaration was elaborated by an United Nations organizationand strongly entails ethical principles to human rights. In this way, the Declaration sustains a moral universalism directed towards the national States for a concrete application. In the current world where economic interests are globalized and global inequities are the main threat for bioethics, the Declaration strengthens the safeguard for equality and justice for all human beings regarding human dignity"]
