Abstract
"[...] Two important features of Buddhist ethics have already emerged from our brief glimpse at the life of Siddhartha. the first is that Buddhist ethics is basically related to the Buddha’s search for a way out of suffering; Buddhist ethics has a strong practical flavour. Secondly, the ethics is not self -contained, as the moral life, practice of meditation and the development of wisdom are integrated. Thirdly, as we begin to discuss further, the Buddha developed a very refined theory about the moral order in the universe. This provides the framework of moral philosophy within which is chartered the practical guides for leading a good life [...].", p.3.
