Abstract
It is needed to recognize that because of wisdom from the founding fathers in electing Unity in Differsity as a principle basing plurality of our citizenship life, ideas for Union State of Indonesian Republic (NKRI) have been inherited to the next generation until nowdays after having been protected with great efforts of the beloved fatherland heroes. Properly, that fact inspire us, the well educated generation, to reflect such wisdom and to articulate it in the realm of our citizenship life so our presence can be received contributive to spin national harmony and integrity. In popular concept, such wisdom is named by multicultural recognition that is facing serious problems caused by prevalence of provincialism and sectarianism temptations in disorder of our citizenship life. In the mentioned context, efforts to build multicultural recognition of the young generation must be driven through many education activities, including Islamic religion education (PAI). In this case, religion education has a duty in transfering inclusive-multicultural Islamic teachings to students so that they are able to appreciate universality values of Islam, like inclusivism, humanism, tolerance, and democracy. Therefore, Islamic religion education activities truely needed is “teaching religion” in the frame of “teaching religiosity”, that is education activities do not only introduce students to their religion teachings but also introduce them to their religion’s humanity vision and it’s universal values. Besides that, religion education activities must be avoided from domestication and indoctrination processes through making them be more dialogical.
