Abstract
"A inicios del siglo XXI, no hay duda de que características de la obra de José Martí como la riqueza temática, el peculiar estilo y, sobre todo, la profundidad conceptual ética y política, se hacen más rotundas al mantener su vigencia a pesar de la distancia temporal. Es decir, que para la Cuba de hoy, la obra de Martí se agiganta y es asumida como la asumiera el grupo de vanguardia de la Generación del Centenario (con mucha mayor claridad y comprensión de su alcance ideopolítico). Las circunstancias históricas en que se desarrolló la vida de nuestro Héroe Nacional determinaron en gran medida las temáticas proyectadas en su labor de hombre de letras y las causas a las que consagró su vida. Y he ahí uno de los muchos aspectos de la grandeza martiana: fusionar armónicamente al hombre político, al luchador incansable, al periodista sagaz, al poeta, al ensayista, al escritor para niños, en un saldo único, en una integralidad nada común. El intelectual no desterró al político. El periodista no desmembró al poeta, el delegado no olvidó al hombre de La edad de oro. “¡Todas las ideas del movimiento democrático del siglo xix pasaron por el tamiz de su extraordinario talento y de su exquisita sensibilidad humana y de su decisión irrevocable de ponerse al lado de los pobres!”" ["At the beginning of the century, there is no doubt that features the work of José Martí and the thematic richness, the peculiar style and, above all, the conceptual depth ethics and politics are more robust to remain current despite temporal distance. This means that today's Cuba, Martí's work is enlarged and is assumed as the group took the forefront of the Centennial Generation (with much greater clarity and understanding of their ideopolítico range). And behold one of the many aspects of Marti greatness harmoniously merge the politician, the tireless fighter, the astute journalist, poet, essayist, writer for children in a single balance, in an uncommon integrity. The intellectual does not banished to the political. The journalist dismembered poet, the delegate did not forget the man with the golden age.
