Abstract
A brief review of Johannine scholarship reveals how dualism in the Fourth Gospel is often viewed as a metaphysical and ethical problem by New Testament interpreters. However, a comparative reading enables the interpreter to see a more dynamic dualism in John‟s Gospel than may first meet the eye. Considering dualism in Confucian perspective enables the reader to begin to see more clearly often overlooked aspects of the Fourth Gospel.
