Abstract
A brief review of Johannine scholarship reveals how dualism in the Fourth Gospel is often viewed as a metaphysical and ethical problem by New Testament interpreters. However, a comparative reading enables the interpreter to see a more dynamic dualism in John‟s Gospel than may first meet the eye. Considering dualism in Confucian perspective enables the reader to begin to see more clearly often overlooked aspects of the Fourth Gospel. Abstract in Chinese: 对《约翰福音》学术史做一个简短回顾就可看出，其二元论常被新约学者们视为一个本质的和伦理的问题。然而，对它的比较阅读却使得诠释者们看到一个更加生动的二元论。考虑到儒家视野下的二元论，它能使读者更清晰地看到这第四部福音书中的那些常被人忽视的方面.
