Abstract
"Manuel Larraín Errázuriz, obispo de Talca entre 1938 y 1966 fue una figura de relieve mundial; en Chile, entre los años 1952 y 1962 desempeña el cargo de Asesor Nacional de la Acción Católica y a nivel latinoamericano es elegido como primer vicepresidente del Consejo Episcopal Latinoamericano (CELAM), ejerciendo la presidencia entre los años de 1964 a 1966. Su participación en el Concilio Vaticano II fue intensa. Dicha Ponencia trata de rescatar la participación del obispo Manuel Larraín en el Concilio Vaticano II así como la “recepción” de este evento eclesial en sus escritos y el quehacer pastoral en la diócesis de Talca" ["Manuel Larraín Errázuriz, Bishop of Talca between 1938 and 1966 was an international figure. In Chile, between 1952 and 1962 he was the National Advisor of the Catholic Action and on a continental level he was elected as first vice president of the Latin American Episcopal Council (CELAM) and was its president between 1964 and 1966. His participation in the Second Vatican Council was profound.
