Abstract
"O objetivo principal do presente trabalho é contribuir para a construção de um novo conceito bioético, a saber, o de cuidado respeitoso. Esse conceito refere-se a uma atitude fundamental que é extremamente importante para a Bioética atual, particularmente para a bioética clínica. Antes de desenvolvê-lo, convém apresentar algumas tensões que podem surgir entre cuidar e respeitar (seção 1), reanalisar esses dois conceitos (seções 2 e 3), que são bastante discutidos na ética contemporânea e, então, propor os elementos principais do novo conceito bioético, ou seja, o cuidado respeitoso (seção 4). Ao longo do trabalho, algumas implicações práticas desse conceito serão analisadas a partir de um caso bioético real. Finalmente, o trabalho aponta (seção 5) para a necessidade de se repensar e de reanalisar o cuidado e o respeito no contexto mais amplo da Bioética Geral. Nesse sentido, propõe uma consideração de reverência à vida como um todo que supera a visão instrumentalizadora atual, encaminhando a discussão para o conceito de Cura e para a necessidade de novas atitudes na Bioética" ["The main objective of the present work is to contribute for the construction of a new bioethical concept, namely, respectful care. This concept refers to a vital attitude that is extremely important for current Bioethics, particularly for Clinical Bioethics. Before developing it, one must discuss some tensions that may appear between caring and respecting (section 1), to re-analyse these two concepts (sections 2 and 3) that are very discussed in contemporary ethics and then propose the main elements of the new bioethical concept of respectful care (section 4). Along the work, some practical implications of this concept will be analyzed on the basis of a concrete bioethical case. Finally (section 5) the work points to the necessity of rethinking and re-analyzing care and respect in the broader context of General Bioethics. In this sense, it proposes a consideration of reverence to life as a whole that surpasses the current instrumentalizing conception, directing the discussion to the concept of Cure and to the necessity of new attitudes in Bioethics."]
