"El descubrimiento y la traducción del Evangelio de Judas despertaron polémicas sobre su papel en la historia. ¿Habría pedido Jesús a Judas que lo traicionase? ¿Cuál es el significado de este descubrimiento y de la traición de Judas? ¿Cuál es el contexto del Evangelio de Judas? ¿Deseó Judas ser traidor para volverse libertador? ¿Cuál es la importancia de este descubrimiento para el cristianismo? Estas preguntas serán respondidas a lo largo del análisis del personaje Judas, en los textos apócrifos y en el evangelio que lleva su nombre. Abstract The discovery and translation of the Gospel of Judas gave rise to fierce debates concerning the historical role of Judas. Did Jesus ask Judas to betray him? What is the significance of this discovery and of Judas’ betrayal? What is the context of the Gospel of Judas? Does Judas cease to be a traitor and become a liberator? What is the importance of this discovery for Christianity? These questions are answered through an analysis of the figure of Judas in apocryphal texts and in the gospel that bears his name."
