"O presente artigo objetiva investigar as possíveis convergências entre a filosofia utilitarista e as modernas doutrinas de Direitos Humanos (DH). Para isso, a obra de John Stuart Mill foi utilizada como marco teórico e foram eleitos dois elementos do pensamento utilitarista para verificar como atuam nessa corrente filosófica e como podem se relacionar com os DH: a segurança e a empatia" ["This article aims to investigate the possible convergences between utilitarian philosophy and the modern doctrines of Human Rights (DH).
