Abstract
This book “History of Reformation Period” contains collection of essays on the Movement which changed the face of Christianity forever. The four distinct reform movements to emerge outside the Roman Catholic Church in this period were Lutheran, Calvinist, Anglican, and Radicals. On one side, Millions of Protestants across the world consider the events of the sixteenth century as beginning of their story. It brought an end to corrupt and oppressive rule of the clergy of the Institutional Church which is defined as the story of spiritual liberation of people casting aside the shackles of theological and moral servitude. As a response to the Protestant Reformation, the Catholics led a counter movement designed to save the Old Church from the ravages of the Protestant heresy. However, now it is increasing acknowledged that the Catholic Reformation contained within itself many positive features, such as the Oratory of Divine Love, papal reform, the Catholic mystics, and certain aspects of the Council of Trent, 1545 - 1563. But in retrospect, the protestant as well the Catholics appear to have been flawed since the Radical Reformers were considered dangerous heretics by both of them and were left to fight for their survival.
