"AA1000AS（2008）は、サステナビリティの非財務側面を、財務報告およびその保証と整合させるための土台となるものである。本保証基準は、保証提供者にとっては、データの単なる検証ではなくそれを超えた保証を行うため、報告組織体によるサステナビリティの管理方法を評価するためおよびその管理とパフォーマンス結果を保証報告書に反映させるための手段を提供している。 AA1000AS（2008）は、組織体によるAA1000AccountAbility 原則（以下、AA1000AP という。（訳者挿入））の充足の状況およびサステナビリティパフォーマンスに関する開示情報の質を評価することによって、サステナビリティに関する課題への組織体の管理、実施および報告について説明するための総合的な方法を提供している。 また、AA1000AS（2008）は、温室効果ガスの排出量、環境マネジメントシステム、持続可能な森林管理、あるいはフェアトレードラベルのような、サステナビリティの個々の側面を扱う広範な他の検証および認証スキームもその適用対象としてとらえ、整理する手段を提供している。" ["AA1000AS (2008) assurance provides a platform to align the non- nancial aspects of sustainability with nancial reporting and assurance. AA1000AS (2008) assurance provides a comprehensive way of holding an organisation to account for its management, performance and reporting on sustainability issues by evaluating the adherence of an organisation to the AA1000 AccountAbility Principles and the quality of the disclosed information on sustainability performance. AA1000AS (2008) assurance also provides a means to capture and place in context a wide range of other veri cation and certi cation schemes that deal with specific dimensions of sustainability such as those for greenhouse gas emissions, environmental management systems, sustainable forest management or fair trade labeling."]
