El autor discute los lados de la controversia histórica y literaria apuntando a que, este texto se relaciona con la destrucción del templo de Jerusalén en las cercanías al año 70 d.C." López states that II Thessalonians probably is among the earliest works of the disciples of Paul, shortly after the destruction of Jerusalem."
