"O que o progresso biotecnológico espera de nós nos próximos anos? E que dizer das questões éticas que teremos de enfrentar? Em termos concretos, como a bioética poderá nos ajudar? Ela tem algum futuro enquanto disciplina? Os autores formulam essas perguntas mediante um relato do atual debate e, ao considerar a pessoa e a sociedade que desejamos, apresentam algumas ideias para estimular a reflexão e a discussão" ["What does the biotechnological progress hold for us in the coming years? And what will be the ethical issues that we will face? How will bioethics help us in the concrete? As a discipline, does it have any future? The authors address these questions by giving an account of the current debate and, by looking at the person and the society that we want, they offer insights to stimulate the reflection and the discussion"]
