Abstract
The paper examines the primary legal cases and examples showing the juristic divergences between Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Persatuan Islam in the contexs of jurisprodence and Islamic legal transactions, also the jusristic reasons adopted by both organizations. The study has identified that NU bases on legal theory drawn from Shafii schools, meanwhile Persatuan Islam holds Qur'an and Sunnah as fundamental legal sources.
