Abstract
"En este relato, encontramos la vida de una mujer que ciertamente rompe moldes: con focomelia en los cuatro miembros, Rosaleen Moriarty-Simmonds se describe a sí misma como una persona normal y feliz. El título original del relato, “Just Crash Through It”, refleja la fuerza con la que quiere dejar un testimonio muy positivo de lucha y superación. La autora describe el contexto histórico y social en el que ella nació para explicar por qué se considera tan afortunada. Ella es uno los 12.000 bebés, que, en los años 50, fueron víctimas de los efectos de la Talidomida en madres embarazadas, aunque ella ni murió al nacer (como el 60% de estos niños), ni la abandonaron en el hospital (como al 50% de los que sobrevivieron)".
