Abstract
"The aim of this contribution is to suggest some basic principles for a history of AIDS in Senegal. It concentrates on the effects which resulted from the onset of this new disease and looks at initial developments in ethical thoughts and practices. Special attention will be paid to research carried out in the last twenty years by referring to an earlier study which stressed the permanent elements in the thinking and policies regarding sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS."
