Abstract
"El envejecimiento de la población y el aumento del número de personas con cáncer, otras enfermedades crónicas o degenerativas, representan un reto importante para las sociedades desarrolladas. Muchos de estos enfermos, que padecen al fi nal de sus vidas un sufrimiento intenso, precisan una atención esmerada en la que debe estar implicada toda la sociedad. Todas las personas tienen derecho a una asistencia sanitaria de calidad, científi ca y humana. Por tanto, recibir una adecuada atención médica al fi nal de la vida no debe considerarse un privilegio, sino un auténtico derecho" ["The aging population and increasing the number of people with cancer, other chronic or degenerative diseases, represent a major challenge for developed societies. many of these patients, who have the fi nal their lives intense suffering, need careful attention should be on involved the entire society. all People have a right to health care quality, scientifi c and human. by therefore receive adequate medical care the fi nal of life should not be considered a privilege but a genuine right"]
