Abstract
"O presente artigo procura refletir algumas questões acerca do dinheiro como elemento mediador na relação com o sagrado, no que tange a experiência religiosa neopentecostal. A referência empírica escolhida para a pesquisa é a Igreja Internacional da Graça de Deus. A compreensão do dinheiro não pretende aqui ser reduzida apenas a uma crítica utilitária e oportunista enquanto expressão de fé daqueles indivíduos que se inserem neste grupo religioso. O dinheiro é um símbolo que deve ser compreendido e analisado à luz do sistema de dádiva. No contexto de uma sociedade centrada na economia de mercado, o dinheiro assume um caráter peculiar e parece ter encontrado um ambiente propício no âmbito religioso neopentecostal, para multiplicar bênçãos materiais aos que o santificam segundo os propósitos e ensinamentos da Igreja Internacional da Graça de Deus e o seu discurso alicerçado na Teologia da Prosperidade" ["This assignment seeks to reflect on some questions about money as an element of mediation in the relationship with the sacred, with respect to the Pentecostal religious experience. The empirical reference chosen for research is the International Church of the Grace of God. The understanding of money here is not intended to be reduced just to a utilitarian and opportunistic critique of the expression of faith of those individuals who fall into this religious group. Money is a symbol that must be understood and analyzed in the light of the donation system. In the context of a society centered on a market economy, money takes on a special character, and seems to have found a favorable environment within the Pentecostal religious sphere, to multiply material blessings for those who sanctify it according to the purposes and teachings of the International Church of the Grace of God and its preaching rooted in the Theology of Prosperity"]
