Abstract
This essay attempts to explain the method of essential teaching developed in Naqsabandiyah Sufic order which is practiced by people in South Celebes. It also explores the Sufi's historical background and expounds the ways in which it influences people's social life, including in the fields of worship and human relations. The author shows that Syaikh Yusuf al-Makassari was the first figure who introduced this Sufic order (tarekat) in Indonesia, and it gave the big influence to the religion practice of the society of south Celebes.
