Abstract
This research aims to explore the epistemological uniqueness of Muslim radicalism in understanding al-Quran and Hadiths which changes the real face of Islam as rahmatan li al-alamin becomes the threatening and feared religion. Epistemological model of Muslim radicalism in understanding Islamic tenets influences their religious attitude in social life becoming exclusive, radical and offensive behavior either to Muslims who have different view or to non-Muslim. This writing uses hermeneutic approach to analyze the collected data to reveal historical and sociological background or philosophy of their epistemological radicalism. The results show that Muslims radicalism only hold the Quran and Hadiths which is understood literally and scripturally, so that bearing the fanatic, exclusive and black-white comprehension.
