Abstract
"Etica senza fed,e (L) es el título de uno de los libros más emblemáticos del laicismo italiano. Su recepción en España ha provocado algún entusiasmo bien sigrrifrcativo (2). En la contraportada de este trabajo se puede leer una lapidaria frase que resume su tesis central: la paciencia laica de la democracia y la ideología oscurantista de Karol Wojtila. La modernidad -inaugurada en 1789 con la revolución francesa al grito de libertad, fraternidad e igualdad y sancionada por KANT con stt atréuete a pensar (sapere aude)- se ve amenazada en la actualidad no sólo por sus indudables errores históricos, sino, sobre todo, por el poder de las ideologías fundamentalistas que tienen en las religiones, en general, y en la iglesia católica, en particular, su buque insignia, su santo y seña. Ha llegado la hora -tal es larazón de ser de este libro- de levantar la voz y denunciar la intolerancia, la mentira, el integrismo y la manipulación que se está apoderando de este mundo por obra de las religiones y, particularmente, de K.
