Abstract
El presente artículo tiene por objetivo presentar un breve comentario de 2Samuel 6-24, unidad literaria que narra la “historia de la sucesión al trono de David”. Como parte constitutiva, en la Biblia Hebrea, de los profetas anteriores, los libros de Samuel se concentran en tres grandes personajes, en torno a los cuales se desarrolla la historia: Samuel, Saúl y David. Queda evidente, por el análisis de los textos, que dentro de un proyecto teológico específico, los libros de Samuel subrayan tres aspectos: a) el origen, la naturaleza y las exigencias de la monarquía en Israel; b) la importancia del profeta como intérprete y mediador de Dios; y c) la centralidad política y religiosa de Jerusalén. This article aims to present a brief commentary of 2 Sm 6-24 which tells the “story of the succession to the throne of David”. As part of the Hebrew Bible of the Early Prophets, the books of Samuel are concentrated on three major characters around which the story takes place: Samuel, Saul and David. By analysis of these texts it is evident that, as part of a specific theological project, the books of Samuel stress three things: a) the origin, nature and requirements of the monarchy in Israel, b) the importance of the prophet, as interpreter and intermediary of God, and c) the political and religious centrality of Jerusalem.
