Abstract
"La Ecoética contempla tres aspectos fundamentales: Saber qué es la vida, Cuál es el tipo de calidad que deseamos y Cuál es el sentido de la vida que podemos compartir los seres humanos actuales sin detrimento del hábitat y de las futuras generaciones. El reconocimiento de la vulnerabilidad de la naturaleza, de la pérdida de un medio ambiente sano, ha dado una nueva dimensión a la ética. Hay esenciales problemas en América Latina y el Caribe, como un modelo de desarrollo económico insostenible; una enorme desigualdad en la distribución de la riqueza y un rápido crecimiento demográfico. El principio responsabilidad, es un ensayo de una ética para la civilización tecnológica, habla de un nuevo imperativo ético anteriormente impensable, de un deber de las actuales generaciones hacia las generaciones futuras. Los objetivos como fundamento de valores y principios éticos, se deben centrar, en: fomentar la calidad de vida, cultivar el potencial humano y propiciar la participación de los más desfavorecidos" ["Ecoethics covers three main aspects: knowing what life is, knowing what kind of quality we want and knowing what sense in life can be shared by humans today without harming the habitat and future generations. The recognition of the nature’s vulnerability and losses in a healthy environment has brought a new dimension to ethics. There are serious problems in Latin America and the Caribbean such as a model of unsustainable economic development, a great inequality in wealth distribution and a rapid population growth. The principle of accountability is a test of ethics for the technological civilization and refers to a previously unthinkable new ethical imperative, a duty of present generations to future generations. The objectives, as the basis of ethical values and principles, should focus on: promoting quality of life, cultivating human potential and encouraging the participation of the disadvantaged"]
