Abstract
"The rules presume that there is a national committee or set of committees devoted to questions of scientific dishonesty, the Danish Committees on Scientific Dishonesty. In addition, it is presumed that the authority of the Danish Committees on Scientific Dishonesty is limited to scientific dishonesty. The national committee on scientific dishonesty deals with a special form of the breach of good scientific practice, designated scientific dishonesty; while other forms of the breach of good scientific practice are not reviewed by the national committee. With this limitation on the authority of the national committee, it becomes a duty of individual research institutions to ensure that good scientific practice in general is observed at the institution. This duty does not only entail the ability to take a position on concrete, individual cases but can relate to other more enterprising and controversial measures. The rules are divided into chapters. Chapter 1 contains general provisions to help the University of Copenhagen discharge the duties that the requirement of good scientific practice places upon the university; while chapter 2 deals with the committee appointed to supervise the discharge of these duties. Chapter 3 deals with the committee’s review of concrete cases alleging breaches of the requirements for good scientific practice; while chapter 4 contains some concluding provisions on effective date, etc."
