Abstract
"El concilio Vaticano II dio un impulso a la moral desde una clave personalista, en la que el punto de arranque está en el hombre como ser creado a imagen y semejanza de Dios, redimido en Cristo e invitado a la plenitud de la vida en Él. En esa perspectiva, la conciencia representa el centro de la vida moral del hombre, en cuanto sujeto ético, y se reconoce que todo el orden moral viene personalizado por ella. En cuanto tal, ella es sede, centro y síntesis de la vida moral. El contenido que está en GS 16 revelará una nueva valoración de la conciencia moral de la persona, exigida a amar y a hacer el bien, y a evitar el mal. Este escrito profundiza en el número conciliar antes citado, viendo las aportaciones y la nueva visión que se estructura a partir de ahí, con los retos implicados." "The Second Vatican Council gave fresh impetus to moral doctrine using an egocentric key, whose origins are in man as a being created in the image and likeness of God, redeemed in Christ and invited to share in the fullness of life in Him. From this perspective, the conscience represents the centre of man’s moral life, as regards its ethical character, and all moral order is recognised through it. Thus, it is the centre and synthesis of moral life. The content of GS 16 will reveal a new evaluation of man’s moral conscience, which is expected to love and do good and avoid evil. This paper analyses in detail the above-mentioned council number, looking at the contributions and the new views which have originated there, along with the challenges involved."
