Abstract
"Discussions of the philosophical base of bioethics too often concentrate on philosophical ethics: utilitarianism, deontology, teleology, Aristotelianism, etc. This approach is too narrow. Science, philosophy of science, philosophy of logic and language, metaphysics, deeply influenced the ethical philosophies of the great philosophers of the past."
