"HACE cuarenta años escribió Harvey Cox una obra de gran impacto, titulada The secular city (MacMillan, New York 1965; trad. castellana: La ciudad secular, Península, Barcelona 1968), donde defendía el ascenso imparable de una sociedad donde la religión dejaba de ser el factor determinante de la vida pública, abriéndonos una ventana de libertad a los que somos ya un poco mayores. Hace dos meses (julio del 2005) he pasado con él unos días inolvidables en un foro de teología dedicado al cuerpo y a la copa, en Mendes R. J, Brasil. El cuerpo es carne de gozo y sufrimiento, la copa es fiesta y entrega por otros.
